ITEM DESCRIPTION

Antique Syracuse O.P.Co. (Onondaga Pottery Company) restaurant ware 8 7/8" dinner plate in the Ardmore pattern dated 1923. This is an early example of heavy vitrified American hotel ware from the golden era of institutional china production.

Syracuse China, originally known as Onondaga Pottery Company (O.P.Co.), was one of the most important American manufacturers of restaurant, railroad, and hotel china in the early 20th century. Their wares were built for strength and longevity, making surviving early examples like this increasingly collectible.

The Ardmore pattern features a refined repeating border of stylized floral elements and geometric panels in deep navy blue accented with soft peach floral centers — a beautiful example of early 1920s decorative restraint combined with commercial durability.
