ITEM DESCRIPTION

Beautiful pair of blue and white transferware dinner plates from the Spode Blue Room Collection featuring the classic Lucano pattern. The central scene depicts a scenic landscape with a stone bridge leading toward a tower beside a river, with birds flying overhead and hills in the background. The scene is surrounded by an elaborate floral and foliage border.

The Blue Room Collection was created by Spode to reproduce some of their most famous early 19th century transferware patterns using designs taken from original hand engraved copper plates. The Lucano design was first introduced around 1819 and later reproduced for the Blue Room Collection during the late 20th century.

These plates display the traditional deep cobalt blue transfer printing that made Spode famous and are attractive examples of classic English transferware.

ITEM CONDITION

These plates are in Excellent Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, No Crazing, and No Repairs. The glaze remains bright and glossy and the transfer decoration is sharp and well preserved.
