This one is in excellent vintage condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing.

Beautiful Ceramic Arts Studio “Pioneer Susie” porcelain figurine designed by Betty Harrington and dating to 1947. Susie is shown in traditional pioneer dress with a bonnet, fitted blouse and long skirt, finished with a hand-painted green, blue and yellow plaid apron.

What makes this example especially interesting is the original broom accessory held in her hand. Many Pioneer Susie figurines found today are missing the broom, making a complete example like this considerably harder to find.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Pioneer Susie is dressed in a long pioneer-style gown with a green-trimmed skirt, plaid apron and coordinating bonnet. Her raised hand and broom give the figure considerable movement and personality.

The surviving broom is an important feature of this example. Because the broom is a separate, delicate accessory, it is frequently absent from examples found today. This one retains the broom, making it a particularly desirable example for the Ceramic Arts Studio collector.

Susie measures 5" High x 3 1/5" Wide hand to hand. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Figurine.
