PATTERN & DESIGN

This early Rookwood creamer and sugar bowl set features a distinctive nautical theme with blue sailing ships and coordinating maritime decoration encircling the lower portions of the pieces. The creamer's cylindrical body, angular handle, and projecting spout are complemented by the sugar bowl's faceted form and symmetrical squared handles. The restrained blue decoration and strong geometric shapes give the set a distinctive appearance characteristic of this unusual early Rookwood service. Dating to 1886, these pieces are attractive examples of late-19th-century American art pottery.

The creamer measures 2 1/2" High x 2 5/8" Wide spout to rim and the sugar bowl is 2 1/2" High x 2 1/4" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Set.
