ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is a beautiful Shelley England fine bone china cup and saucer set in the highly collectible Melody Chintz pattern, pattern number 12453. The design features a soft light green ground with an all-over floral chintz decoration including daisies, pink blossoms, and blue flowers, finished with a delicate gold trim.

The base of the cup retains the original green “Fine Bone China Shelley England” backstamp used during the post-WWII production period. Also present are red hand-painted pattern and decorator numbers, which are typical of authentic Shelley chintz pieces and further confirm originality.

Shelley chintz patterns are well known for their vibrant, full-coverage floral designs and high-quality porcelain. The Melody pattern is especially desirable due to its balanced pastel palette and classic English tea set appeal.

Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, and No Crazing.
NOTE: There is light gold wear on the rim and very minor surface wear visible under reflected light. The foot rim shows light shelf wear consistent with age. Clean and well cared for example.
