PATTERN & DESIGN

This elegant Lady Bust is a wonderful example of the highly decorative porcelain figures produced by Cordey China during the mid-20th century.

The figure combines a delicately modeled woman's face with an elaborate dimensional costume. Particularly striking is the large white ruffled collar, composed of numerous individually modeled folds and curls that beautifully frame the figure's face.

Applied floral decoration adds additional dimension to the design. A pink rose and surrounding leaves decorate the front of the green dress, while the base is encircled by stylized foliage highlighted with gold accents.

The combination of the graceful lady, elaborate ruffled collar, dimensional flowers, soft green and pink coloring, and gold accents gives this Cordey #5001 figurine the romantic decorative character associated with vintage Cordey porcelain.
