Anchor Hocking Glass Swedish Modern Aquamarine 8" Large Dessert Bowl 1970s

ITEM DESCRIPTION

This Anchor Hocking Swedish Modern Aquamarine Glass Large Dessert Bowl is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Fleabites. Made by Anchor Hocking, this beautiful bowl dates to approximately the 1970s and measures approximately 8" across.

The bowl features the distinctive Swedish Modern design with a dramatic flared form and deeply sculpted sides. The broad rim rises and falls in graceful waves, giving the bowl an attractive flower-like appearance when viewed from above.

A particularly striking feature is the starburst design formed around the bottom of the bowl. The deeply molded points radiate outward from the center and become prominent when viewed through the transparent glass, adding wonderful dimension and visual interest.

The Aquamarine glass has a beautiful transparent blue-green coloration that becomes deeper and more concentrated along the heavier molded portions, rim, and base.

At approximately 8" across, this is the larger dessert or serving bowl size and is equally attractive for serving fruit, desserts, candy, or simply displaying as a decorative Mid-Century glass piece.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Anchor Hocking's Swedish Modern design has a distinctly sculptural appearance, combining sweeping curves with strong geometric molded details.

This bowl features a broad, dramatically waved rim surrounding a deep central well. Viewed from above, the molded design creates a striking radiating starburst effect, while the side profile reveals the flowing, almost petal-like shape of the bowl.

The transparent Aquamarine glass emphasizes these molded details beautifully, with deeper blue-green coloration appearing wherever the glass is thicker. The combination of its large 8" size, sculptural form, and vibrant Aquamarine color makes this an especially attractive example of Anchor Hocking's Swedish Modern glassware.

This measures approximately 2 7/8" High x 8" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Bowl.
