Franciscan Ware Porcelain El Patio Coral Glossy 14" Chop Plate Round Platter 1942–1950

This one is in Excellent condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. NOTE: There are some harder-to-notice scratches. This is an original Franciscan “El Patio” Large Chop Plate in the coral glossy glaze.

El Patio is part of the iconic Franciscan Ware dinnerware line produced by Franciscan Ware, the tableware division of Gladding, McBean & Co. of California. Introduced in the early 1940s, El Patio reflected the relaxed indoor-outdoor “California patio living” lifestyle that became popular during the wartime and post-war years.

Unlike floral or transferware patterns, El Patio featured rich, solid glossy colors and smooth coupe shapes with thick, durable bodies designed for everyday use. The simple modern forms, warm glazes, and restaurant-grade construction made Franciscan pieces both stylish and practical, and they quickly became a staple in American homes throughout the 1940s and early 1950s.

This measures 14" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Chop Plate.
