This Ceramic Arts Studio Little Ballerina Daisy Figurine is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips or Cracks. Made in Madison, Wisconsin, this charming ballerina was designed by noted Ceramic Arts Studio designer Betty Harrington and dates from 1952 to 1956.

This Ceramic Arts Studio piece comes from an exceptional lifetime collection of well over 1,000 pieces, including figurines, salt-and-pepper shakers, head vases, and other Ceramic Arts Studio designs. Carefully assembled over many years, the collection represents an extraordinary gathering of Ceramic Arts Studio pieces. We were very fortunate to acquire more than 500 pieces from this collection and are pleased to make them available to our buyers.

Little Ballerina Daisy depicts a young dancer standing gracefully while holding her green tutu. She wears a charming ballet costume decorated with delicate white and yellow daisy flowers and matching soft green accents. Her brown hair is styled neatly beneath a white headpiece.

Daisy's graceful pose, delicate ballet slippers, hand-painted facial features, and soft pastel coloring give the figure the wonderful charm and personality associated with Betty Harrington's Ceramic Arts Studio designs.

The underside carries the Ceramic Arts Studio Madison, Wisconsin mark and is clearly identified as "DAISY."

DESIGNER HISTORY

Betty Harrington was the principal designer for Ceramic Arts Studio of Madison, Wisconsin, during its celebrated 1940s and 1950s period. Beginning her association with the studio in 1942, Harrington created hundreds of imaginative figurines and decorative pieces known for their distinctive personalities, expressive faces and whimsical Mid-Century styling. Her designs remain highly collectible today and are an important part of American ceramic history.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Little Ballerina Daisy is a charming example of Betty Harrington's graceful dancer designs for Ceramic Arts Studio. The young ballerina is captured standing in a delicate pose while holding the edge of her green tutu.

Her soft green ballet costume is accented with small white and yellow daisies, while matching green details and delicate ballet slippers complete the design. Her carefully painted face and neatly styled brown hair add to the figure's youthful character.

Standing approximately 6" high, Little Ballerina Daisy is a delightful companion to the other Little Ballerina designs and a wonderful example of Betty Harrington's whimsical mid-century Ceramic Arts Studio figurines.
