PATTERN & DESIGN

This J.G. Durand candle holder combines a substantial geometric crystal form with a brilliant cobalt blue upper section and recessed circular candle well. The thick clear crystal base beautifully reflects and magnifies the intense blue color, creating an attractive optical effect from every angle. Its simple square profile and bold use of color give the piece a distinctly modern European appearance. The heavy crystal construction and signed base make it an appealing example of vintage French decorative crystal and an attractive addition to a collection of cobalt blue glass.
