ITEM DESCRIPTION
This Beswick England Porcelain #762 Duck on Skis Figurine is in Excellent Vintage Condition with No Chips No Cracks. NOTE: There is some natural crazing consistent with age. This charming vintage Beswick figurine was produced between approximately 1939-1969.
The whimsical figurine depicts a comical duck standing upright on a bright yellow pair of skis. The duck has a cream-colored body accented by a brilliant orange-red bill and webbed feet, with simple hand-painted black details defining the eyes and eyelashes.
The unusual skiing pose gives the duck wonderful personality and makes this a particularly fun example of Beswick's humorous animal figurines.
The underside is impressed with the Beswick model number 762.

Beswick was an English pottery manufacturer established in Longton, Staffordshire, in 1894. The company became especially well known for its highly collectible animal figurines, producing everything from realistically modeled horses and dogs to humorous and whimsical character pieces.

PATTERN & DESIGN
Model #762 is a wonderfully whimsical Beswick design depicting a cheerful duck balanced on a pair of bright yellow skis.
The duck's upright stance, oversized orange-red bill and feet, and expressive painted eyelashes give the figure a humorous personality. The long yellow skis form the base of the figurine and emphasize the playful winter-sports theme.
The unusual subject and colorful decoration make this an especially charming example of Beswick's humorous mid-century animal designs.
