Japanese Studio Pottery Yamada Signed Stoneware Mingei Folk Craft Style Iron Brush Decoration 6" Vase 1950-1980

This one is in Excellent Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, No Crazing. Very Nice Japanese Studio Pottery Yamada Signed Vase. This is a hand-thrown Japanese studio pottery stoneware vase, created in the Mingei (Folk Craft) style popular in the mid-20th century. The piece features a warm natural clay body with a soft beige glaze and bold iron-brown brushed decorative motifs around the shoulder, a hallmark of post-war Mashiko- and Shigaraki-influenced studio work.

On the base is an impressed oval potter’s seal with two vertically arranged kanji characters, most closely resembling the common Japanese surname Yamada (山田) — a name used by multiple independent studio potters across Mashiko, Seto, and Mino pottery regions. The stoneware body, glaze tone, decoration technique, and seal style all place this piece in the 1950–1980 period of Japan’s folk-craft revival.

This measures 6" High x 3 1/4" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Vase.

(The pictures are of the exact piece you will receive). Photography Props & photo stands are not included.
