ITEM DESCRIPTION

This charming Ceramic Studio Arts squirrel figurine was designed by Betty Harrington and dates to 1952. The squirrel is finished in warm brown and white tones with a large curled tail, expressive painted facial details, and a bright green shirt with blue accents.

The whimsical styling and animated expression are characteristic of Betty Harrington’s mid-century animal figurines and make this a wonderful piece for collectors of Ceramic Studio Arts and vintage porcelain animals.

PATTERN & DESIGN

The squirrel is modeled sitting upright with a large curled tail extending behind the body. It has a brown glazed body with white accents on the tail, large painted eyes and lashes, and a green shirt with blue details. The exaggerated facial features and playful pose give the figure the distinctive whimsical character associated with Betty Harrington’s designs.

This measures 2 1/4" High x 2 3/4" Wide base. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Figurine.
