PATTERN & DESIGN

This distinctive studio pottery jar features a rounded body encircled by deeply defined horizontal ribs. The mustard-yellow and olive speckled glaze settles naturally into the recessed areas, emphasizing the thrown form and giving the surface considerable depth.

The lid provides the primary decorative accent, with an abstract glaze composition in white, brown, rust and darker earth tones against the mustard ground.

The combination of the ribbed vessel, earthy speckled glaze, individually decorated lid and boldly signed base gives this piece the characteristic handcrafted appearance associated with American studio pottery of the 1970s and 1980s.

This measures 4 1/4" High x 3 3/4" Wide rim to rim. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Canister.
