ITEM DESCRIPTION

This antique Dugan Carnival Glass bowl features the highly collectible Wishbone & Spades pattern in rich iridescent amethyst glass. The design shows a bold geometric floral center with alternating wishbone and spade-like motifs radiating outward, giving the bowl a crisp and eye-catching appearance. The six-point ruffled form adds strong display appeal, while the dark amethyst base color gives the bowl a deep, dramatic look beneath the bright iridescent surface. This is a very attractive early Dugan example with good color, clean molding, and a classic carnival glass shape.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Wishbone & Spades is one of Dugan’s well-known carnival glass patterns, recognized for its combination of geometric structure and stylized floral form. The pattern presents a striking center motif surrounded by repeating shaped elements that stand out well under strong iridescence. The six-point ruffled edge works especially well with this design and gives the bowl the bold sculptural look collectors want in early carnival glass.
