Seneca Glass Driftwood Peacock Light Blue 5 Piece Vintage 7 3/4" Pitcher & Tumbler Set 1953-1983

ITEM DESCRIPTION

This Seneca Glass Driftwood Peacock Light Blue 5-piece Pitcher & Tumbler Set is in Excellent Vintage Condition. Made by Seneca Glass Company, this beautiful set features the distinctive Driftwood pattern and dates from approximately 1953-1983.

The set consists of one large handled pitcher and four matching tumblers. Each piece is made in beautiful Peacock Light Blue glass with wonderful variations of aqua and deeper blue created by the heavy textured surface.

Driftwood is immediately recognizable for its dramatic irregular texture, designed to resemble the natural ridges, grooves and weathered surface of driftwood. The heavy sculptural texture catches and refracts the light, producing striking variations in color throughout the glass.

The large pitcher carries the same heavy Driftwood texture and features a substantial applied glass handle, flared base and pouring spout. Together with the four matching tumblers, this makes a wonderful complete vintage beverage set.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Seneca's Driftwood pattern is known for its bold, deeply textured surface inspired by the irregular appearance of naturally weathered wood. The glass has a highly organic appearance with raised ridges, flowing lines and irregular textured areas that give each piece tremendous visual character.

The Peacock Light Blue color is especially striking in this pattern. The thick and heavily textured glass produces shades ranging from pale aqua to rich blue depending upon the thickness of the glass and the way light passes through it.

The large sculptural pitcher paired with four matching tumblers makes this an impressive example of Seneca's mid-century glassware and a beautiful set for display, use or addition to a collection of Seneca Driftwood glass.

The pitcher measures 4 3/4" High x 4 1/4" Wide rim to rim and the glasses are 4 1/8" High x 2 3/8" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Set.
