MAKER HISTORY

Rosenthal was founded in Germany in 1879 and became one of Europe's most respected porcelain manufacturers. The company was particularly noted for its Kunstabteilung, or Art Department, which produced finely modeled figurines and decorative porcelain designed by accomplished sculptors and artists.

Rosenthal's animal figurines became especially admired for their naturalistic modeling, high-quality porcelain and carefully applied hand-painted decoration.

PATTERN & DESIGN

Model #755 depicts a graceful young fawn bending forward to graze. The arched back, lowered head and delicately positioned legs give the figurine a particularly convincing sense of natural movement.

Warm brown and tan coloration emphasizes the smooth contours of the young deer, while subtle darker shading adds definition to the legs and facial features. The softly colored green ground contrasts beautifully with the crisp white stepped base.

The natural pose, restrained hand-painted decoration and fine Rosenthal craftsmanship make this a particularly attractive example of early 1940s German porcelain animal sculpture.

This measures 3 1/8" High x 2 1/8" Wide base. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Figurine.
