Ceramic Arts Studio Betty Harrington Design Fawn 3 3/8" Figurine 1949-1956

ITEM DESCRIPTION

This charming vintage Ceramic Arts Studio “Fawn” figurine was designed by Betty Harrington for Ceramic Arts Studio of Madison, Wisconsin. Measuring approximately 3 3/8" tall, the little fawn is beautifully modeled with long slender legs, large expressive ears, an alert face, and a raised tail.

The figurine is finished in warm brown and cream coloring with white spotted markings along the back. Hand-painted black details accent the eyes, eyelashes, nose, ears, and hooves, giving the fawn the whimsical personality characteristic of Betty Harrington's animal designs.

This Ceramic Arts Studio piece comes from an exceptional lifetime collection of well over 1,000 pieces, including figurines, salt & pepper shakers, head vases, and other Ceramic Arts Studio designs. Carefully assembled over many years, the collection represents an extraordinary gathering of Ceramic Arts Studio pieces. We were very fortunate to acquire more than 500 pieces from this collection and make them available to our buyers.

This figurine appears to be in very nice vintage condition. From the photographs provided, I do not see any obvious chips, cracks, or repairs. PATTERN & DESIGN

Fawn is a wonderful example of Betty Harrington's whimsical animal designs for Ceramic Arts Studio. The unusually long legs, oversized ears, raised tail, and expressive face give the little deer an animated and endearing appearance.

Especially appealing are the hand-painted details, including the large eyes and eyelashes, black-tipped ears and hooves, and white spots across the back. The warm brown and cream coloring completes the classic storybook appearance of this delightful Ceramic Arts Studio animal figurine.

This measures 3 3/8" High x 2 1/4" Wide base. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Figurine.
