ITEM DESCRIPTION

This Edwardian Silver Plate Bowl with Cobalt Blue Glass Insert is in Very Good Antique Condition. NOTE: The silver-plated surface has considerable age-related tarnish and wear with areas of exposed copper, giving the piece an attractive aged patina. The cobalt blue glass insert has No Chips or Cracks.

This beautiful antique bowl features a removable deep cobalt blue glass insert resting inside an ornate silver-plated copper holder. The pierced metal body is decorated with applied swags and classical details and is supported by four slender legs ending in detailed paw feet.

PATTERN & DESIGN

The ornate metal holder features an open pierced gallery decorated with classical swags, vertical detailing and decorative borders. Four tapered legs with paw feet support the bowl, with a small circular platform positioned between the legs beneath the body.

The rich cobalt blue glass insert provides a striking contrast against the aged silver and warm exposed copper tones. The combination of pierced metalwork, classical decoration, paw feet and brilliant cobalt glass gives the piece an elegant late Victorian to Edwardian appearance.

This measures 5 1/4" High x 4 7/8" Wide rim to rim. I have provided many pictures to best describe the condition of this Bowl.
