ITEM DESCRIPTION

Beautiful pair of blue and white transferware dinner plates from the Spode Blue Room Collection featuring the classic Milkmaid pattern. The central scene depicts a pastoral countryside setting with a milkmaid seated beside her cow while sheep graze nearby, surrounded by a detailed floral border.

The Blue Room Collection was created by Spode to reproduce some of their most famous early 19th century transferware patterns using designs taken from original engraved copper plates. The Milkmaid design was first introduced around 1814 and later reproduced for the Blue Room Collection beginning in the late 20th century.

These plates display the traditional deep cobalt blue transfer printing that made Spode famous and are attractive examples of classic English transferware.

ITEM CONDITION

These plates are in Excellent Condition with No Chips, No Cracks, No Crazing, and No Repairs. The glaze remains bright and glossy and the transfer decoration is sharp and well preserved.
