Shenango China USA for Interpace T-27 Blue Floral Scroll Border 8 3/4" Restaurant Ware Luncheon Side Plate 1969
This one is in Very Good Vintage restaurant ware condition with no chips, no cracks, and no crazing. NOTE: There are light utensil marks and surface scratches from normal dinner use that you can see when the light reflects off the surface. Still displays beautifully with strong gloss and a crisp blue border.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
Authentic mid-century American restaurant ware luncheon plate made by Shenango China U.S.A. and marked “by Interpace.”
The plate features a rich cobalt blue floral scroll and vine border surrounding a bright white center. The continuous acanthus-style transfer gives it a classic diner, railroad, and hotel China look that fits perfectly with other vintage restaurant ware patterns.
Shenango was one of the premier American manufacturers of heavy-duty commercial China, supplying restaurants, hotels, and institutions with exceptionally durable vitrified ware designed to withstand decades of daily use. These pieces are noticeably thicker and heavier than household China and are highly collectible today for their toughness and nostalgic Americana appeal.
According to the Restaurant China Book by Barbara J. Conroy (page 413), the T-27 code corresponds to Shenango production from January through June of 1969. T-27 is the date code for January to June 1969, allowing this plate to be dated very precisely to early 1969.

PATTERN & DESIGN
This border is a classic Shenango contract floral scroll design, often referred to by collectors as Blue Floral Scroll or Blue Vine Border. Many Shenango restaurant decorations were produced specifically for commercial accounts and were never formally named retail patterns, making these pieces authentic examples of true mid-century diner and hotel ware.
This measures 8 3/4" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Plate.
